JANUARY


12 - 1998 - Gene is officially inducted into the Cleveland Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame.
13 - 1960 - "Wild Cat" reaches number 21 on UK charts.
21 - 1997 - Razor & Tie Records, NYC, releases "The Screamin' End" CD (older material).
23 - 1963 - Gene marries third wife, Margie Russell in Dartford, Kent, UK.
25 - 1997 - The Blue Caps headline the 14th Annual Rockers Reunion in UK.


FEBRUARY


03 - 1997 - Polytone Records, UK, releases Blue Caps CD "Hep to the Beat."
11 - 1935 - Eugene Vincent Craddock is born.
11 - 1956 - Gene marries his first wife, 16-year-old Ruth Ann Hand.
19 - 1952 - Gene joins the US Navy.


MARCH


04 - 1957 - The second Capitol LP is released.
08 - 1958 - "Gene Vincent Rocks & The Blue Caps Roll," the third album, is issued.


APRIL


17 - 1960 - Eddie Cochran dies in car crash while riding with Gene.
27 - 1959 - Gene's first child Melody Jean is born. Mother is Darlene, Gene's second wife.


MAY


04 - 1956 - Friday, Gene records "Be Bop A Lula" in Nashville.
29 - 1963 - Margie gives birth to Gene's daughter, Sherri Ann.


JUNE


01 - 1960 - "She She Little Sheila" reaches number 26 on UK charts.
04 - 1956 - "Be Bop A Lula" is released by Capitol Records.
06 - 1956 - "Be Bop A Lula" reaches number 7 on US Billboard charts.
19 - 1957 - "Lotta Lovin'" is recorded in Hollywood, Ca.
25 - 1961 - "Pistol Packin' Mama" reaches number 11 on UK charts.

02 - 1958 - The movie "Hot Rod Gang" is released.
04 - 1955 - Gene, in Franklin, Virginia while on his Triumph motorcycle, is hit by a woman in a Chrysler, crushing his left leg.
11 - 1958 - Everly Brothers cover of "Be Bop A Lula" reaches number 74 on charts.
28 - 1956 - The Perry Como Show, Gene's first TV apperance, he sang "Be Bop A Lula.


AUGUST


01 - 1956 - (approx. date) Gene appears on Alan Freed WINS radio show with the Blue Caps to do "Hound Dog" and "Be Bop A Lula.
14 - 1997 - Blue Caps kick off 4-day California mini tour.
19 - 1957 - "Lotta Lovin'" / "Wear My Ring" reaches number 13 on US Billboard charts.
22 - 1956 - "The Girl Can't Help It" movie premiers in Hollywood.
24 - 1956 - "Be Bop A Lula" reaches number 16 on UK charts.
27 - 1940 - Dickie "BeBop" Harrell is born unto the world.


SEPTEMBER


13 - 1969 - Gene appears at the Toronto Rock 'n Roll Festival, with Alice Cooper's band doing the backup. Gene got half way through "Be Bop A Lula" and broke down crying. John Lennon stepped from backstage to gave Gene a big hug.
20 - 1956 - "Race with the Devil" reaches number 96 on US Billboard & number 30 on UK charts.
27 - 1956 - "Bluejean Bop" reaches number 49 on US Billboard charts.
30 - Brandi (Gene's niece) is born. Her mom is Gene's sister Tina.


OCTOBER


01 - 1961 - "I'm Going Home" reaches number 36 on UK charts.
12 - 1971 - Eugene Vincent Craddock passes away at the age of 35.
13 - 1960 - Darlene gives birth to Gene Junior, 8 lbs., 2 oz.


NOVEMBER


01 - 1956 - "Bluejean Bop" reaches number 12 on UK charts.
10 - 19?? - Tommy "Bubba" Facenda's Birthday
10 - 19?? - Gail Facenda (Tommy's wife) also born on the same day!
16 - 1997 - Tina Craddock accepts the Internet's Rockabilly Hall of Fame Certificate in behalf of her brother, presented in person by Bob Timmers.
17 - 1957 - Gene and the Blue Caps appear on Ed Sullivan NYC televison show,


DECEMBER


05 - 1959 - Gene arrives for his first visit to England.
09 - 1957 - "Dance to the Bop" reaches number 23 on US Billboard charts.
12 - 1959 - Jack Good's TV show "Boy Meets Girl" is Gene first appearance in the UK.
15 - 1959 - Gene appears in Fance for the first time, at the Olympia Theatre.
