"I'm just a hillbilly rockabilly, I don't type, I sing. Bob Timmers has helped Rockabilly Music more than anyone else. I know for a fact that since I have been on The Rockabilly Hall Of Fame that my record sales have tripled and I know other Rockabilly artists' sales have doubled or tripled as well. We are all indebted to Bob.
If all the Rockabilly performers support Bob Timmers and The RHOF financially, then we will not lose it. If the RHOF fell, it would hurt every legend that's alive. Not only that, but the newer artists on the scene. I know being on the Rockabilly Hall Of Fame that it has given opportunities that we Rockabillies wouldn't have, like playing Las Vegas, for example. -- Glen Glenn

After consulting with several professionals in the music industry, we have come up with an idea that could save the RHOF. If individuals (or businesses) would continuously contribute $10 per month, we could sustain existence.

A "Rockabilly Hall of Fame Foundation Team" has been established. Those signing up are official members. Payment may be made through credit cards, and charged $10 per month (on the 15th) or, $120 per year. For those that have suggested I get a "real job," this is a REAL job. - Bob Timmers, curator

THE ROCKABILLY HALL OF FAME (®)
This site (started March 21, 1997) will show you that "Rock Music" started long before the 1960s, and that "Rockabilly" is the true roots of Rock 'n' Roll.   "Rockabilly" is still alive today.   NOTE: The majority of the artists listed within this website are, or have been, rockabilly performers. Also included here are other related "roots music" legends a melting pot of early rock and country cats. They all had (or have) a part of shaping the music we call "rock 'n' roll". Today we believe that "rock 'n' roll music" has lost a great portion of these roots, thus the purpose of this website: to re-direct attention and focus on that window of time that created the most raw, exciting, driving music of all time. We chose to call that window "rockabilly".   WE HAVE ADDED certain performers here for a couple of reasons. #1 We do not believe the term "rockabilly" should be applied exclusively to a handful of select performers in the mind a given fan or viewer. We take full responsibility if you feel that some artists listed here are "out of place," and respect your opinion. How can you please each of the 180,000+ viewers that visit this site every month?   #2 These performers may not ever have the opportunity to get international recognition elsewhere, depriving family, friends and fans knowledge of their contribution to music history.   OVER 1300 ROCK-A-BILLY RELATED URLs ARE ALL RIGHT HERE - ALL PART OF THIS SITE. You'll find hundreds of rock-a-billy pages to browse and print out. PLUS: hundreds of other rockabilly links. The Rockabilly Hall of Fame is used by media, schools, colleges and universities as a key rock-a-billy, early rock and roots music reference source!   It's "Where Rockabilly Legends / New Talent and Rockabilly Fans Get Together"
Bob Timmers, site curator

From An Artist
"... if it were not for the Rockabilly Hall of Fame, I would never have known that my recordings were still being played and collected around the world. I would never have known that I still had a fan base out there, a new young fan base that want to hear more of my music and to meet me. I would never have known that my recording of 'Baby Take Me Back' would be considered in some circles as the best rockabilly song ever recorded (I have my opinions on that) and that it became one of the top collectable 45's in the rockabilly world.
That is a very humbling feeling for this old rocker after all these years. I had buried "Roc LaRue" way back in the recesses of my mind, only for memories to pop up every now and then. I wish I could still talk with Carl, and Eddie, and Johnny, and others - those wonderful great artists of the 50's that I was honored to share the stage with. I have my scrapbook and my memories ....
Many of us original rockabilly artists were heartbroken when our music went out of favor to the radio stations, etc. I know I didn't understand, or knew what had happened. But because of the Rockabilly Hall of Fame I now know. Through a chance web search by my son on the name Roger LaRue (which is his name also), he found the RHOF site - and that's when my new journey began.
If it were not for Bob Timmer's dream, this would never have happened. I would have left this world still broken hearted over what happened in the 50's - still broken hearted over a dream that was so close - and then almost overnight - disappeared. But now I cling to those memories with a new excitement and energy.
I met some fans recently and they litterly overwhelmed me with their love and sincere expression of their love for the music. Because of the RHOF and Bob Timmers, a dark void in my past has been lit once again - however dim - but it is not the dark void that it used to be ... and if God is willing, I will be back on stage ...."
-Roc LaRue - August, 2003
