WAYNE NEWMAN was born August 20, 1935 in a small town called Dry Prong in south Louisiana.
He graduated high school in 1953 from Ouchita Parish High School in northeast Louisiana.
He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served eight years of active duty and reserve duty.
He began playing music at clubs and jamboree all over the south in the mid to '50s.
In 1959 he and a friend, Mr. D.Q. Rankin formed NEW RANK RECORDS and began recording their music.
Back then he would hire a DJ at WNOE radio station in New Orleans to record him and his band due to lack
of recording studios.
He later recorded for Americana Records as well.
He has shared the stage with numerous artists such as Porter Wagoner, Jim and Jessie, Jimmy Martin,
Harmy Smith, Wayne Busby, Doyle Holly, Wilford Ray and many, many others.
His song, MIDNIGHT RAIN has been released world wide and is still being played 45 years after it's
release.
He now resides in Northeast Louisiana in a small town called Start, Louisiana.
Wayne still performs whenever possible and still loves writing and recording his music.
