Heather Myles Biography

Heather Myles

Heather Myles

Heather Myles grew up on a ranch in California where she was inspired by the music of artists like Merle Haggard, Buddy Holly, and Buck Owens. With a voice that garnered comparisons to Tammy Wynette and Patsy Cline, it wasn't long before Myles was receiving rave reviews on two continents and charming arena-sized crowds opening for acts like Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings and Ricky Skaggs. For the past decade, she has toured tirelessly, developing a rabid following among fans of real country music throughout the US, Europe, Australia, and England. Recently she was the recipient of the AWA Award for Top Country Female Vocalist 2010.

Heather Myles is still proudly waving the Americana flag and has been in the charts for 16 weeks with her new album In The Wind
. Songs like Broke and Broken-Hearted will have fans of Merle Haggard cheering in the stands, and her duet with Willie Nelson, Don't Call Me, is proof once again, that Willie is ageless. Fiddles cry, pedal steel twangs

Cuts from Heather's new album like In The Wind and Pretty Poison have a Sheryl

Crow meets Dwight Yoakam vibe while My Baby's Good To Me is reminiscent of the great blues sound of Stevie Ray Vaughan. Heather's new album has something for everyone!!

All in all, In The Wind is Heather's best CD to date. Featuring co-producer Taras Prodaniuk (Dwight Yoakam, Lucinda Williams) on bass, Larry Mitchell and Jim Christie on drums (Dwight Yoakam, Tony Furtado, Lucinda Williams), and Bob Gothar on guitar, Heather is a modern Buddy Holly meets Ann Wilson, with big vocals, bigger songs and a strength that admirers of great music can sink their teeth into.

In The Wind was released on AHHA MUSIC GROUP June 7th, 2011

"On her MySpace site Heather Myles is billed as 'The Honky Tonkiest girl in Country Music' Myles is in possession of a powerful voice, with a distinctive coarseness which gives it a sexy and arresting quality. Over the years it has been compared to that of her idols Loretta and Tammy, yet it is unmistakably her own."

"In The Wind" is an album full of songs for everyone. Her songs are a little bit Bakersfield and a whole lot of the true Texas Country Music. Her songs are of love, life, loss, fun and with a whole lot of attitude! Sultry vocals and maturity of a true country music legend. Heather, you have made your idols proud and in this album, "In The Wind," we see that their spirits flow through you in your songs. And we can hear them saying, 'well done, well done!'
