I just received the Di Maggio Brothers CD released by Bob Timmers' Rockabilly Hall Of Fame, and it's a killer!!!

These cats from Florence Italy really know how to shake that shack! But beyond the good rockin' beat, we have an astoundingly virtuoso guitar player and extremely strong harmonies throughout this superb record.

Makes me real proud to be a Paesano myself!!

Narvel "The Marvel" Felts, the Man himself, was really enjoying this CD here at Rollin' Rock Records. We played it several times between our recordings.

The Boys Of May have some sharp originals too like "Sad And Blue", "The Nickname Of The Game", "Un Vizioso Come Me" and several more. Great stuff!! BUY IT!!

Viva Italia!!!

I think all rockin' discussion groups will be interested in this new CD from the RAB HOF. The DiMaggio Brothers: Rockabilly From The Boots Up. I' listening to it as I type this. Great stuff from Italy! Eight original songs and a few covers. You wanna hear someone copy Elvis doing "King Creole"? This is it. How about a cover of Sting's "Every Breath You Take" in rockin' style? Believe me, this is a good CD! Those who know me know I don't recommend much of 90's recordings, but this is really nice stuff. I'm now listening to "Walk Of Life" (I gotta admit I like the original), you gotta hear this version. For you hillbillies, there's a good version of "Little Cabin On The Hill."

Buy this CD (I admit I don't know how you can get it, but I'm sure if you check out the RAB HOF website as indicated below you can get more information). Bob Timmers has really hit golddust here. Track listing is as follows:
Little Cabin On The Hill (Monroe-Flatter)
Groupy Baby (DiMaggio-Chisci-Stefanelli)
King Creole (Lieiber-Stoller)
Long Holiday (Martin Ace)
Sad And Blue (DiMaggio-Chisci) Every Breath I Take (Sting)
I'm Counting On You (Don Robertson)
High Speed Pickin' (DiMaggio-Chisci)
In The Groove (DiMaggio-Chisci)
Let Me (Presley-Matson)
Wee Folk (DiMaggio-Chisci)
I Don't Care If The Sun Don't Shine (MacDonald)
Rockabilly Is On My Mind (DiMaggio-Chisci)
The Nickname Of The Game (DiMaggio-Chisci)
Un Viziozo Come Me (DiMaggio-Chisci-DiMaggio)
Walk Of Life (Mark Knofler)
This is some high speed stuff, no doubt about it. I haven't been wrong lately, and I predict this to be the CD of 1998! Not a bad track on the CD. Why is it that American groups aren't this good? Nevermind, don't try to understand (I don't). Buy this CD! I hope Hepcat has it real soon, if not sooner.

Steve in KY concurs. This disc by the Di Maggio Bros. is PDG (that's KY rockabilly kat lingo for Pretty Damn Good!). I especially like "Every Breath You Take" and their version of the Elvis tune - "Let Me." Hats off to Bob Timmers & the Di Maggio Bros.
