PAUL GALAXY AND THE GALACTIX
AT ROLLIN' ROCK

Paul Galaxy at Rollin' Rock: Ronny, Chris, Mad Dog, Paul
Like the Chop Tops and the Starlight Drifters before them, Paul Galaxy and
The Galactix won the Battle Of The Bands contest here in Las Vegas and thus
earned themselves a recording contract with Rollin' Rock Records.
The much expected sessions came on May 14, 15 and 16.

Ronny, Chris, Mike, Paul
The first day Paul and The Galactix -- Mike "Mad Dog" Minnick on drums, and
Chris Cordoba on slappin' bass -- recorded 14 songs. All were first or
second takes, these guys are really pros!! The second day we taped a few
more, and added background vocals on those from the first day.
Paul' s incredible guitar playing, Chris' pumpin bass, and Mad Dog's tough
crashing drums really came through on this session!!!

Paul strumming out "Desert Air" , a haunting desperate Western rocker.
I felt we almost had an album, indeed here was a good variety of rockabilly,
novelty, rock'n'roll, and even four Surf instrumentals (somewhat unusual for
Rollin' Rock!), but something was missing.
As a died in the wool Westerner I always try to push at least one "Western"
tinged rocker on my artists. Since Paul Galaxy is such a killer guitar
player, I suggested he should think about that classic riff from "Ghost
Riders In The Sky" and try to get inspiration to write a new fresh haunting
moody melodic Western song.

Mike "Mad Dog" Minnick galloping those drums to simulate horse hoofs hitting
the pavement in "Desert Air"!!
Well Wednesday, their third and last day in Vegas, Paul Galaxy and The
Galactix recorded "DESERT AIR", a haunting, desperate, gut-wrenching Western
rockabilly song. Indeed my favourite song on the CD.
A very tight, hard rockin' band, delivering a variety of styles and sounds,
the boys have three American tours lined-up. Don't miss them when they come
to your town!!

Chris Cordoba with the Texas Flag behind him, took his shirt off, trying to
fend off the rising heat, while slappin' away at that desperate cowboy song,
"Desert Air", it might as well be "Desert Heat" at 105 F in the shade!!!
